Since 2010 we had to make space for Kaa, a Boa that was kept by a family as a pet in La Paz. Later on, in 2014, another Boa came to join her, Kaa 3, who was taken from an illegal pet trade trafficker. Finally, in 2016 came Coquito, a small Caiman also taken from the illegal pet trade market, this case in Cochabamba, and now the same enclosure with the other two boas.
This year the roof of the enclosure fell down. With our own funds gathered from tourism and with the $500 donation we get from the Fundación Kantutani, a Bolivian company we are so thankful to, we invested in the urgent rehabilitation of the roof of this enclosure.
The project was finished in may 2017, the new roof was built with galvanised mesh and tubes and should require no fixing for many years to come.
