Social media, through text, images and video, is a great way to get the message to the world about La Senda Verde’s mission and attract volunteers, visitors and donors to support the more than 700 rescued animals that live here. Volunteers have previously produced some great videos and shared some great images and articles, but we hadn’t formalised this until now.
We need more videos produced to provide information and education about the more than 60 species that live at La Senda Verde, and this is why we have developed the LSV Media Producer volunteer program, where volunteers with a specific interest or experience in media production can come support us in producing new videos to promote LSV’s mission abroad.
The program works as a badge, the volunteer is required to have their equipment and to coordinate previously with LSV staff to work on specific projects. The badge gives the volunteer a special merit and helps him to kick-start his image and his work through all of LSV’s social media, all whilst supporting the animals. The program begun a little bit after we received the visit from whom is now our first LSV Media Producer Badge bearer, Emma Blackwell, a wildlife presenter and researcher from the UK, who produced four great videos for La Senda Verde.
