We have a Tapir and a Deer that have recently arrived and were living in a very small enclosure. Both animals are very young and will grow a great deal, specially the Tapir which is South America’s largest mammal and can grow to weigh 200 kilograms.
On June 2017 we finished constructing a new enclosure for these two animals. Just as we were finishing building the enclosure we received a new deer! The Tapir requires a pool, which is a very important element for this species, and we haven’t yet been able to build that. We are currently developing the project for this pool and will soon know how much it will cost.
Funds for this project came from Kantutani company in Bolivia and by the small funds produced by tourism visits to LSV, we did not crowdfund for this project.
